Ma

The creator of me, the ultimate definition of power, the most sensitive at the same time the most daring, my mother, my MA.

Since I was a kid, I have seen you do all that you can in your stride, to make my life better. Every obstacle I face is made easy by your presence. You are my first friend, my first guide, my first expert in life Teaching me how to talk, how to walk when I was a child, you explained to me the meaning of life.

As I grew up, you taught me that the outside world is not a fairytale land, but a place to fight for mere existence. You give me courage when I am in doubt of myself, you give me strength when I am weak, you stand by me when the world thinks I am wrong, could I ever thank  you for what I have become?

The journey towards a better future, to have a better career is your dream. You stand by me now and push me along, so I don’t lack the motivation I need. Parting with me, you endured so much pain, yet you put on a bold face and let me go ahead.

This one day is not enough to tell you how much you mean to me. 
Words and gifts are trivial in comparison to what you have given me.
Every day I feel blessed to have you in my life.
You are the WORLD's BESTEST MOTHER, I say with Pride! 
I may not show you my love, 
I may fight with you over stuff, 
I throw tantrums for no good reason,
but that is only because it is you who will bear with all that and yet love me every day, every season!

Z for Zeal

It’s all within us. We just need to find it. The power to achieve, the hunger to conquer lies within. In this vast world, we might be lost at times, situations maybe crop up wherein you feel you are nothing, that life is a waste. 

In those times you need to keep calm and think patiently as to what is your dream, what is that goal you have been wanting to achieve since you were a child, why have you worked so hard till now, what is it that matters the most.

These questions will unveil the truth, it will shed light upon the things that are closest to your heart and it will lead you towards a happy, wonderful life.

Coming to the end of anther years writing challenge, I feel satisfied for having made it till the very end. Blogging is all about expressing your ideas and thoughts, how you feel about something, your sole prospective. This challenge has helped my blog, since so many people from different parts of the world have read it and appreciated the work done. Had it not been for this challenge, this blog would not have reached the people that it did.

R for Rhythm

Variation is the only constant in life.

Our life is like an unstoppable train that has stops in between but doesn’t stop permanently. We lead our life with a lot of ups and downs. Some days are so pleasant, it makes us feel like this is what life is all about, the best there is to experience. And yet again some days make you face difficulties where you question your existence.

But all this is a parcel of life. It is the variety which spices up life. Once you feel that everything is perfect, life gives you new worries and lows, and once you overcome them you find your new highs. Our life is like a sound wave, in a rhythm it moves, in a pattern it flows.

To deprive life of this rhythm is like striping of the frosting of a cake. Without this change and mix of good and bad, life would be too monotonous, too plain and too stagnant. What fun will it be if you are happy one moment, and the next and the next and on and on, the true essence of happiness is felt once you overcome the obstacles and the nightmare situations.

So embrace the rhythm of life, and make a wonderful living!

P for Pressure

This noon I happened to watch a rather interesting movie named Bangalore days. The plot revolves around the lives of three cousins and an amazing story of how their world takes a whole new course.

While watching this movie, I couldn’t help but notice how the main plot is in tune with the concept of pressure that is imposed upon us by relatives, peers, society.

Pressure builds as one is confronted by numerous questions- where you did your schooling? Where you going to do your college? Did you get a job? Did you find a guy? When are you planning to have kids? And again the same set of questions is replayed for your kids.

So what is this? Why do we have to lead such a life, being under the constant pressure of these unlimited, unwanted questions. We came to this world alone, we have the capability to lead our life the way we want to, then why do we pay so much heed to what others have to say. Why should the small talks of the neighbor bother you, why should you live your life, the way they want you to?!

It is all in you. You have the power to overcome any obstacles and you can do so without depending on anyone. In this journey of life, if you happen to find a partner who is well supportive of your dreams, respects your goals, then you are truly lucky. Let not the negative energy of others get to you. Like the old saying, even if a crab wants to move out the other crabs bring him down, this is the nature of the people around us.

But what is important is the voice within you. You know what is best for yourself and what you need to do to achieve your dreams.

O for Ordinary

Why is it that we have to be excellent? Why can we not be just simple, Ordinary!

From the very start of our life we are trained to be competing with others. To excel in class, to win every competition, every battle. Is it really that important to win every single time?

Winning maybe a great achievement but being ordinary makes you no less of a human being! If winning was so important, than out of a class of 54 students, only one wins the race to be at the top. What happens to the rest 53 students? They stop living their lives? They give up on all good? They find on purpose for their life?

No! They do find, and they do excel in life. Maybe they don’t achieve the highest rank in the job or they don’t win the best employee award. But they do what they love and live with content. Being ordinary is not a cruse or so. One can be ordinary and at the same time contribute largely to the world.

I believe being ordinary is crucial, for it keeps you humble while at the same time lets you do what you know best. So what, if you don’t win every battle, it doesn’t make you a loser. If anything, it makes you a learner. Every battle is a platform for learning, and every loss is a lesson. Winning or losing is not important, what is important is the fight, the time spent in the process, the journey towards the end.

It is not how fast you pick the bricks or how many you can pick in one go, it is just the process of steady collection of bricks on your way towards the finishing line, which helps you in building a strong house.

N for Next

We are always anxious to know what is going to happen in our life, the next thing that will occur. We crave to unlock the doors of the uncertain future. But why?

Is it really that amazing to know exactly what is going to happen in your life? To take out the surprise factor from the event that is yet to take place? We are always wanting to know everything that is going to happen, like we are unable to cope with the uncertainty, as if a plain, boring life is all that we wish for.

Agreed that a little knowledge might make the future better, in case of avoiding a major accident, or something of that seriousness. But other than that? What fun will it be, if you knew who your first date was, with whom you had that first kiss, how your job would turn out to be, or what your children are going to become in future. All these are questions that are answered only once the event occurs. So if you were to know the answers of all these questions, you might not have felt the excitement, the happiness, in the way that you did.

To wait, to live life with the uncertainty brings out that true essence of living. Embrace the uncertainty, take that leap of faith, give yourself the crazy ride without fearing the future and I assure you, life will never be more worthwhile.

So go out there, live the life you wish for, let the fear of unknown future take a backseat.

J for Jyotsna

Years ago I meet a girl,

My friend she was so special.

We called ourselves best buddies,

Remained together, inseparable were we.

First friend of mine was that girl,

Had hair with little curl.

As if we were glued,

Walking side by side, together we moved.

One day she left the school,

Left no one with any clue.

Being so close, I did not know,

The reason behind the sudden no-show.

Days and months and years went by,

But she was still in my mind.

In one class a teacher said,

That she left the world, a journey to heaven she has made.

The floor beneath me slipped,

I stayed still, with disbelief.

Convinced I was, that the teacher was mistaken,

For my friend was so young, she couldn’t go to heaven!

It felt like someone was continuously shooting at me,

And yet I was breathing unable to take out the life within me.

I was crying inside, oblivious to all the sound,

But not a drop of tear fell on the ground.

It took a while for the truth to sink in,

I just wish, I had one last meet to tell her what she means.

To tell how I loved and cared for her,

That she was the best friend I could have asked for.

The faces fade away as years go by,

But memories remain with you all the time.

Where ever YOU are I just wish,

YOU are happy, YOU deserve it.

I for Infinity

In this moment I swear, we are infinite,

The words of the author still lingers in my mind.

It was a simple car ride,

That made him feel infinite.

The words are little,

But the meaning is not so light.

I remember these beautiful words,

Sitting alone at night.

Infinity has no definition,

Unexplainable, but not a fiction.

It is in the moment that you feel,

Infinity is very much real.

The smell of the spring,

Peaceful breeze in the evening.

The beauty of the world around,

Creates happiness which knows no bound.

A song, a book, a movie, a view,

Could trigger emotions you never knew.

It is in that internal flood you find,

Infinity, peace of a divine kind.

A company of a girl and guy,

Was all that he needed to feel alive.

He felt it, and so will you,

G for Girl

Disappointment was all around,

When the little one opened her eyes and looked around.

Wanting a boy was on their mind,

Entering the room, a girl, did they find.  

As she grew up, a little brother did she have,

Playing with him, love was all she gave.

All she wished for was to be loved like her brother,

But she was always treated as the unwanted other.

Today she walks as a company’s chairman,

Everyone respects her, calls her Ma’am.

She knew the battle was her own,

Making a life, now she shows the world to the level she has grown.

The little brother, whom she still loves,

Is an employee in the company she works.

Giving so much importance to the boy, what did the parents find?

He considers them a burden in his life!

The girl that they considered unwanted,

Who craved for their acceptance.

From medical issues to family outing,

Lives today with them, takes care of all their expense.

A girl child is not a curse, not a mistake,

It is a blessing that God gave.

Respect her, love her, encourage her,

She will rule the world, she has such Power.

F for Forgiveness

Just words and talk, is not what this is,

Forgiveness is a deed, mightier than we believe.

Forgive and forget- something heard often,

Indeed it is helpful, frees you from the burden.

All those incidents and the ugly fights,

Caused you only trouble in its light.

It took a place in your heart,

Highlighting only the negative part.

Passing days make things worse,

Blinding you of your senses and making you curse.

The annoyance and irritation builds up,

Ruins the relationship, widens the distance you have.

There still remains a part of you,

Wishing for things to be normal between you two.

You feel pained, sadden by the turn of events,

Desperately wanting to end the fight, make amends.

It is this desperation that needs to be heard,

Willing to give the relationship another chance.

Forgiving the other, ending the blame game,

Sorting things out, redefining the relationship’s name.

In forgiveness lies the satisfaction,

Transforms you into a better person, by making those corrections.

Let not the rigidity be a hindrance, a barrier,

If something is good, forgive and be happier.

In prayers we seek the forgiveness,

Forgive those who trespass against us.

Fights happen, relationships get sour,

But think about the good that is at stake, thus Forgive, it is in your Power.

E for End

The life we live, the time we have,

Everything has an end.

Today we breathe, in this moment we feel,

Soon all will be over, and we will be still.

Why don’t we enjoy the good times we have?

Why can’t we be grateful for what we get?

Is it Always the greed for more happiness in life?

That we forget to experience the present, and be alive?

 For dust thou art,
And unto dust shalt thou return

Then why not make this life a better ride?

Acknowledging the goodness, living with pride.

We crave for money,

We die for wealth,

Only trying to live someone else’s life,

Ignoring the good that God gave.

Not forever will we last,

The “now” moments will be past.

Then why give into the greed of the uncertain future?

End is approaching, make the most of the present, for its now or never.

C for College

The year that passed, gave me memories that will last,

The friends I made, the days I spent, will cherish them in my heart.

Those silly laughter at the cafeteria, the cute crushes we found,

Crazy dance rehearsals, to intense brainstorming of fests all year round.

It was a fun ride with highs and lows,

Thank you College for giving me those.

The outing with friends, the outstation getaways,

Made me come closer with to my friends in many ways.

Seniors were so very helpful,

Made our lives pretty peaceful.

The days we spent working, finishing those crazy tasks,

Breaking our heads and emerging victorious at last.

Made me realize how talented they are,

Encouraging us, teaching us, training us to be better than we are.

It was because of them, that college was a smooth sail,

Becoming friends with these amazing people has been the highlight, without a fail.

Now they are gone and we shall not meet often,

Talks will reduce and so will the meetings that used to happen.

But I believe with all my heart that talks and meets are trivial matters,

Because when we meet again, history shall be created once again, forever.

A for Alive.

The  life we have is the life we choose for ourselves.

In our lives

 “we accept the love we think we deserve”, 

but little do we know that we are worth a lot more, that we are capable of being loved beyond limits . There is someone for each one of you, who will find their smile hidden in your’s, who will think of you as the most beautiful creation of God, who will love you like you have never been loved before.

Love, the purest form of feeling that makes you feel alive, sets you free and makes you bolder. Love , as most people have said, cannot be expressed in words but if I were to express love , it would be

Expressive

To say I love you, to love someone is a great feeling but to be loved by someone is what counts. Be the person that is loved, accept the guy for whom you are the world, acknowledge the love you receive and be grateful.

Because outer beauty may fade out, the youth won’t last forever but the one who falls in love with you for your inner beauty, who sees the real you, who can feel the sadness you hide underneath that smile of yours, the one who knows what to say when you are upset, the one with whom silence is uncomfortable is the guy you should be with.

So what?! I am Different!

Be mature, don’t be reckless, be sure of what you are doing- these are all the things our parents tell us. The real world in which we live, portrays a whole different scenario.

You be mature, you are called a grandma,
You don’t be reckless, and you are thought of as a bore.

You are surrounded by people who are so different from what you are, that if you don’t become like them, you can’t survive. At the same time, the whole faking drama makes you suffocate within and all you want to do then is run away, scream out loud and say

“So what?! I am Different”.

But you have to pay the price for being different right?

You tend to find some people, whom you eventually end up liking. The attraction is innocent and slowly grows onto you. However, the attraction is forbidden and you know that! Your head tells you - this is a huge mistake, don’t go any further, but all you want to do is listen to the voice of your heart. You know that you have never felt anything like is ever before! Your heart skips a beat when you see him, you heart pounds so fast that it leaves an ache for several minutes, your mood uplifts by just a glimpse of him, your day just gets better when you talk to him, and your life seems perfect at that point of time. The meetings you have, the secret conversations you make all takes up a special place in your heart.

But like fairytales, life is not filled with happily ever after. The dream you had been building had to come crashing down for all he wanted was “fun”, so what if you wanted a relationship, for him it was only “we are just friends”, even though you wanted a “forever”.

All the walks you took, all the talks you had, all the time you spent with him thinking of how perfect it was will only last as a memory, because he never wanted the same things as you did.

Like the waves wash away the footprints,
He erased the memories, the time spent like it meant nothing.

Oblivious?! Not Really.

To Like or not to Like?
To Love or not to Love?

Often we feel that this is something which we can control, that our mind's voice is stronger than our heart's calling. But the reality begs to differ. When the situation occurs, more than listening to the mind's voice, you tend to lose your mind's rationality.

The whole episode starts off just like your own sweet fairy tale. You meet your desired guy, both have short sweet eye contact, slowly conversations build up, things start looking good from your end. Texting, phone call, everything seems to favor you and your wishful story.
But suddenly things change, he starts acting strange, the lesser the contact you have, the more grows the impatience. You being to act weird and jealously sets in. You start to believe in that fact that it was indeed a fairy tale and not a reality, that you had lost your senses for a while, only to get it back on track in time.

But amidst all this, you fail to resist thinking about him. Your eyes stay glued to your phone, your ears couldn't have been any sharper than this (beep of text message) and all you do is dream about unrealistic moments.

Being friends indeed is a great gift, but what if you want more than that? What if you never wished for just the friendship? The time when you wish to cross the line of friendship and yet again restrict yourself, thinking you might make a complete fool out of yourself, is difficult. Your rational self tells you that this is - "so not going to work" and yet a small part of you truly wishes that it does work out the way you wish to.

To be strong enough, to let yourself realize that you are losing your mind, is hard. This time calls for some sensible thinking. Would you like to lose him forever by acting like a total nutcase? Or being around him as a friend is enough for you? Is being friends with him is better than creating an awkward distance ? These are questions you need to ask yourself and validate your point.

To all the hopeless souls out there, I hear you ! This is the dilemma of "love" , the ray of hope seems to be bleak and yet prominent all at once.
Dream for it, wish for it, but don't expect anything out of it and be happy with what you get.

Change in Life!

Its been a while since I last posted something. The reason is very much interlinked with the topic of this post.
So I got busy with "life" . Yes, you heard me! Life is what happened.

College acceptance , leaving my own city , landing up in a completely unknown place , saying good-bye to family members , embracing the new change , trying hard to make new friends , adapting to rather different way of living and the list will go on. This is just a glimpse of the change in life I am talking about.

Before leaving and even till now, many have told me that they wish I remain the same. That I be the very same person when I return . I cannot help but think differently. Same?! Why will I be the same? If I were to be the same person , then I shouldn't have left in the first place. I could have easily stayed back at home, lead a lazy life and could be the "same". I know what they were trying to mean is - as a person I shouldn't become bad or something. However, I wish to think of it in this way.

 I am not going to be bad or good, I am going to improve. I am going to mature as a person, I am going to learn new things everyday, I am going to become a better human being. 

Living alone calls for a lot of new changes and to survive and adapt in a new environment you need friends. Its only been a few days in this city and I am happy to say this, that I have managed to make a few friends. Its needless to say that I am blessed to be where I am today. Fortunately the class I am in, has really friendly individuals. I came here with the hope to learn and grow as a person, but being in a class filled with such people, I am excited to learn from them in this journey ahead.

Change in life can be hard, but we have to face it. The moment we start facing our fears, is when we start living. We need to see the brighter side of everything and motivate ourselves. We need to scarifice something now, in order to achieve something much greater in future.

Your life doesn't get better by chance, it gets better by change.

H for Hope and Hard work!!

Hope, isn't this something that is common for all of us?! We hope we can lead a good life, we hope we can earn a lot of money, we hope we can have our own happily ever after, just like we read in books or watch in movies, we all hope for something or the other.

But really is Hope that powerful to convert whatever we wish for into a successful outcome?! No it isn't. Though Hope is like a program pre-instilled in human beings, we have to install something called Hard work within that system, in order it give hope a desirable shape that can be appreciated.

No big success is achieved by opting for the path of shortcut, but it is achieved by putting in hours and hours of effort into doing the same thing in order to achieve something extraordinary.
A mere hope of attaining the top post in your company isn't going to miraculously promote you. But utmost Hard work, labour, late office hours, immense brain storming to complete each task at hand, will make you what you want to be.

A person who achieves something throughout shortcut doesn't know the real meaning of success, for Success and Hard work goes hand in hand.

F for First!!

Use this word in front of any other word and it will invariably give you a new experience!
First Drive, First Holiday, First Date, First Kiss, First Love and the list is infinite.

New experiences are scary and nerve wrecking at the beginning. They have a certain amount of uncertainty involved, the fear of the unknown, the excitement of the unexpected and the joy of the whole experience.

I have always been scared of trying new things. I was ready to live my life in a plain and simple manner, instead of having new experiences and adding variety to life!

My friends have always told me to experiment new things but I always back out! Why?I think the main reason for it is that, I felt if anything goes wrong, I will have only myself to blame. So to avoid all this and to be better safe than sorry, I kept my distance.

However, I did something recently for the First Time and frankly it was a little too much. But to my surprise it turned out to be better than I had expected. All those thoughts, that I might have to blame myself in the event of things taking undesirable turn, have been erased! As of now things look good.

To take this initiative I was pushed by my Friend, "Tia". And here is to you - Thank you so much Darling. Love you! :)
