Hailing
from the country that recognizes itself with different colors, it is nothing
but a walk down the memory lane when it comes to discussing Holi.
Coming
from a Bengali family and the land of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, holi
is incomplete without the familiar songs -
Aaji Dakhin-Duar Khola, Ore Bhai Phagun Legechhe, Rangiye Diye Jao, and the
list continues. Basant Utsav - 'celebration of spring' is organized by the boys
and girls at Shantiniketan. The cultural fest is filled with songs, music and
dance which attracts thousands of people year after year to enjoy the festival of
color.
Be
it the kid who keeps throwing the ball at your window, or the old aunty who
scolds you every time for playing high volume music, all forget their grudges
and come together during this time of the year. With a packet of sweets, knocking
at the doors of neighbors, coloring their face with abeer (powder), and taking the blessings of the elders is the
tradition being followed in our household.
Every
holi eve is packed with the known list of work which includes buying the dry colors
and the balloons, filling them with plain and colored water, and searching for
the most worn out pair of clothing to put on the next day. Morning of the big
day begins with applying oil on hair and all over the body to protect oneself
from the harsh chemicals. The ground is undoubtedly filled with people who have
started playing with colors in full swing. And before you know it, someone or
the other is there to paint your face and shout the famous quote “HOLI HAI!!!”
The next thing you know - it’s over three hours that you have been engrossed in
playing holi. With liquid colors, dry colors, water balloon attacks, water
guns, the whole atmosphere is charged with such high level of energy, that it
automatically spreads joy and happiness and celebrates the oncoming of spring.
Growing
up in a household that is so devoted, no holi has passed by without the offering
of color to our Gods and Goddess as a mark of respect. After the whole playing
session is over, and the battle to come out clean from the shower cabin has
ended, puja starts by offering Abeer (powder)
to Lord Krishna along with Radha.
The
streets depict the spirit with which holi was played. Filled with blue, green,
red, purple and innumerous colors, the lanes are no longer recognizable. The evenings
are awfully silent and everyone is on their rest mood. The late evening gala includes
music, song and dance performed by the kids of our complex. They all dress up
in yellow sari with flower on their hands and heads. Grooving to the rhythm of rabindra
sangeet, the day ends and one more holi passes by, making its way for us to
welcome a year that is filled with joy and cheerfulness, color and mirth.
“I’m pledging to#KhulKeKheloHoli this year by sharing my Holi memories atBlogAddain association with Parachute Advansed.”

Our
life is constant race. And what is the most important ingredient in any race?
Speed!
The
modern age has made us so busy, that loss of a minute can make a huge
difference. With the advancement of technology and the innovative thinking/designing,
our life is now dependent on “APPs”. Anything we do, we think it would get
easier if an app is there. The majority of our time is spent in doing something
or the other on the cell phone, so the best way to market a product, which
suits the needs of the customers, is through cell phone applications.
Airtel
has just got that right! Airtel has come up with a very nice and handy
application. A platform that will make the life of their users hassle free. It is
one application with which all airtel services can be accessed. Recharges and payments
are done through this application and not to mention the safety of the
transaction is highly maintained.
Some
of the features that really appealed to me were
1.The
idea of all services in one place. We all are living in a very busy world and
with all are gadgets and their billing expenses we often get confused as to
whether a certain bill has been paid on time. This app makes is possible to
have all the services – DTH, broadband, mobile recharge, etc. all together. So you
can keep a track of how much rental for broadband has been paid, what’s the
status of DTH and so on.
2.Who
doesn’t want free recharge? If someone says no, he/she is lying!! My airtel app
has become even more attractive with the feature of first recharge cashback
option. So basically once you do your recharge for the first time through the app,
you get cashback! Now that’s what we all like, right?
3.And
number three, and the most interesting of it all! Free Data with Internet
recharge! Yes, that’s right! So here basically if you recharge for a data pack,
you are entitled to get free data. How awesome is that! Since most of our
work/fun is through the usage of internet, this feature really gives a boost to
the application.
Over
all the app is a satisfying experience. It provides for the need of the hour. The
main problem of ours is the time constraint. We are greedy human beings- when
the bills had to be paid by direct cash transfer we wished for e-billing for
telephone, television, etc. and now that is there, we want all of it to be in
one single platform, so that our time spent on billing is further cut down.
Airtel has made that possible with the all new MY AIRTEL APP.
It
is indeed an application suited for our smartphones with easy user interface
and attractive features.
I am casting my vote for the following ads made by users for the ##CrashThePepsiIPL .
Crash The Pepsi IPL - Winner - Living It
Kaushal Shah
This video is what we call a well-knit video. It talks about life
from everyone's prospect. How Pepsi has walked into our lives many
years ago and now is a part of our daily routine. Its packaging is so good,
that most Indians use it in some form or the other. This video is one such rare
collection, demonstrating all the possible uses of the Pepsi can/bottle. The sentiments
of the people are put in this ad very skillfully. How a mother uses the bottle
to grow a few plants, how siblings use it to fly kites, how it forms a part of
someone’s memory, how roadside vendors use it for their bread and butter, how
someone uses it to have fun, how it is used in a different fashion for styling,
how friends and family uses it to play a game. It’s Pepsi that has been there
in our lives and will continue to be there for many more years to come.
Crash the Pepsi IPL –
Winner – Rajma - Upma
Keerthi Natarajan
Living in the south and also in the north, this ad is something
which seemed very very interesting to me personally. The tiff that goes on
between the North Indians and the South Indians is so well portrayed in this
video. It almost made me laugh, how they fight over the food they have with
them. It’s a very common thing among these two communities to fight over the
food choice. However, the ending is very nicely thought out. There is always something
that binds all communities of a country together. And what better than a bottle
of Pepsi! After their show off of the food, when they both take out the bottle
of Pepsi, it is a moment of friendly connect. I appreciate this video a lot.
Crash the Pepsi IPL -
Winner - Serve
Nikita Deshpande
This ad for me is a total Winner!! The theme of Pepsi IPL is literally
explained so beautifully that I am pretty much out of words! How cleverly
thought of, how nicely scripted and how beautifully linked with the theme. It almost
brought a smile on my face when I saw the Rosgulla and the mention of Kolkata’s
team- KKR. And there is no doubt that everyone who watches this will have a
smile on their face when they hear their favorite city/ their hometown’s team. I
believe the creator of this ad video had an aim to touch the hearts of all
their viewers. And I am so happy to say, you did great! And the ad was beautified
with the mention of Pepsi at the end of it all, with the IPL tune! Well done
indeed.
The creator of me, the
ultimate definition of power, the most sensitive at the same time the most
daring, my mother, my MA.
Since I was a kid, I have
seen you do all that you can in your stride, to make my life better. Every obstacle
I face is made easy by your presence. You are my first friend, my first guide, my first expert in life Teaching
me how to talk, how to walk when I was a child, you explained to me the meaning
of life.
As I grew up, you
taught me that the outside world is not a fairytale land, but a place to fight
for mere existence. You give me courage when I am in doubt of myself, you give
me strength when I am weak, you stand by me when the world thinks I am wrong,
could I ever thank you for what I have
become?
The journey towards a
better future, to have a better career is your dream. You stand by me now and
push me along, so I don’t lack the motivation I need. Parting with me, you
endured so much pain, yet you put on a bold face and let me go ahead.
This one day is not enough to tell you how much you mean to
me. Words and gifts are trivial in comparison to what
you have given me. Every day I feel blessed to have you in my life. You are the WORLD's BESTEST MOTHER, I say with
Pride! I may not show you my love, I may fight with you over stuff, I throw tantrums for no good reason, but that is only because it is you who will bear
with all that and yet love me every day, every season! I love you Ma. You are my first friend, you are my best friend and
you are loved more than gestures can express! Happy Mother's Day!
One
word which is known to the young and the old. Often for couples they say-“matches
are made in heaven”. I say friends are made in heaven.
I
might have a whole different outlook towards this concept. I don’t think the
whole idea of having someone to go out with and spending recklessly at some pub
counts for friendship, (maybe it is the case for some). However, for me friendship
is that connection which is so strong that even if you are far away from
him/her, you feel their presence in your life. The fact that ever met of yours,
be it after a day, a week, a month or a year, it’s exactly the same. The equation
never changes. You don’t feel, that the lack of your physical presence caused a
harm to your friendship.
Many
people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave
footprints in your heart.
As
we grow up, we meet ‘n’ number of people, we try to become friends, but the
connection is what matters the most. The heart to heart connection is what I am
talking about. Friends are those that wont judge you for gaining those extra
pounds of holiday weight, they won’t look down upon you if you lack knowledge somewhere,
(they will rather help you in learning about the topic), around them you won’t
feel left out if you are broke, they will understand your sadness after
breakups and will say something which will immediately crack you up, and the
list goes on. They are a rare bunch of crazy, awesome, lunatics and the
offenses against them are what strengthens the friendship!
Friends
are for keeps,
With
them you share the feels.
To
find them is the treasure hunt of life,
Once
found, you know you will never have to hide.
P.S.
- Dedicated to all my lovely friends, you guys mean the world to me! Love you!
This year's writing challenge has been a massive success for me personally. The whole idea about coming up with a new idea every single day, being in sink with your thoughts and emotions, putting your creative car into fourth gear and accelerating the pace as the challenge proceeds is a great way to enjoy the month. It is certainly a very thoughtful initiative as it definitely gives all those like me, who are so busy that they are unable to get down to writing on a continuous basis, the derive to give in all they have to write what they feel.
This year has been really amazing and I am looking forward for 2016 A to Z Challenge,
It’s all within us. We just
need to find it. The power to achieve, the hunger to conquer lies within. In this
vast world, we might be lost at times, situations maybe crop up wherein you
feel you are nothing, that life is a waste.
In those times you need to keep
calm and think patiently as to what is your dream, what is that goal you have been
wanting to achieve since you were a child, why have you worked so hard till
now, what is it that matters the most.
These questions will unveil the truth,
it will shed light upon the things that are closest to your heart and it will
lead you towards a happy, wonderful life.
Coming to the end of
anther years writing challenge, I feel satisfied for having made it till the
very end. Blogging is all about expressing your ideas and thoughts, how you
feel about something, your sole prospective. This challenge has helped my blog,
since so many people from different parts of the world have read it and appreciated
the work done. Had it not been for this challenge, this blog would not have
reached the people that it did.
Thank you A to Z challenge
for this opportunity. And kudos to all those bloggers who took up this
challenge and survived till the very end. Cheers to you all!
All around we see so
many people who do what not to look young and stay youthful forever. Maintaining
a young age is like the most important thing for them.
It is from them that we
get to know the meaning of this youth we have. While we have it, we don’t appreciate
it enough but once it is gone, we become so desperate that we can do anything
to get it back.
Age is something which stops for no one, what we can do is
enjoy every moment of this time. When we are young, we don’t live it enough,
thinking about our future and career. And once it’s gone, we regret not having
done enough, not living enough, not enjoying enough.
For those that wish
they were young, I feel the age is not a factor to feel younger, it is within
you to feel young, to feel lively.
So for all, let not age
be a factor, spread you wings and fly in which ever direction you want to. There
is only one life, live it to the fullest.
Living in India, we have heard it a lot. Xerox has been a very commonly used
word amongst all age groups. This is a peculiar situation where photocopy is no
longer called photocopy but called by the name of the pioneer company.
In this country no one will ask you to get something
photocopied, they will ask you to Xerox it! It indeed is a very strange how
people adapt to the company and remembers the service by the company’s name
solely.
It could also be the great thinking of the founders
of this mechanism and then the management’s strategic thinking about fixing the
target markets. India has proven to be a very good market, with customers who
still remember Xerox.
Who am I? What am I here
for? What is my purpose? Am I in the right track of life?
All are questions that
define the real person. We are always on the search to find who we really, because
it is the starting point of our living.
To question, is to seek
more, is to know more. And these questions will help unveil truth about
ourselves which would otherwise have not been known, if we dint urge to dig
deep into our lives.
“Who am I and why am I here?Has just become my greatest fear.”―Mohit.K.Misra
This quote from my favorite play Macbeth, by Shakespeare
makes me believe that there is justice in the world. That the wrong deeds with
not go unpunished.
Being a victim of mean acts indeed is painful, more so if you
are the kind who tries to forgive and gets hurt again and again. This quote gives
hope that those cruel acts will not go unpunished.
That blood will have blood.
That
those that did wrong will face the consequences sooner or later.

The
nature is a mighty warehouse of unmatchable power. The strength it possesses, the
destruction is can cause cannot be compared within anything in this universe.
A tremor in the earth’s
surface causes a massive earthquake, leading to destruction and loss of many
lives. The violent nature of the destruction brings with it not only fear and
trauma but also immense pain and grief. The lives lost, places destroyed all
remind us of how powerful mother Earth is.
This afternoon, we
experienced one of the strongest tremors in the recent past. A magnitude of 7.9
was the power of this earthquake. So many prominent buildings that stood tall
with pride this morning are now mere ruins on the face of this Earth. All those
well known temples will no longer see the footfall of the pilgrims. The once so beautiful city,
Pokhra is now a red alert area, filled with fear and grief all around.
All the lives lost, all the sadness caused is
due to the violence of Nature.
Though the tremors have stopped, the storm that
has started in the lives of those victims, will take a long time to stop.
The hope now remains, that God provides
strength to all those that are now in great need. They need to be strong, they
have to be positive.
We are all creations of
God. He created each and every one of us with a certain purpose. He has given
each one of us a particular skill or ability that we know best. It is we, the
human, who need to identify the potential we hold, the unique traits we possess
so that we can make a beautiful living.
Uniqueness lies in our
everyday movement, it may be the way you talk, the way you handle difficult
situations, the way you make the most of opportunities or how you are around
people. Everything that we do is linked to the unique quality we have. We just
need to be a little attentive and identify the unique skill.
We should identify our
power and try to amplify the benefits that we can derive out of that power. For
distance if you have the uniqueness to speak well, on identifying it you can go
ahead and use it in your work place to make a better presentation and so on.
So make that effort,
define your uniqueness and do justice to the purpose for which God has created you.
You know that moment
when someone is so sweet and nice to you, and loves you so much. But all you
can do is be mean to him. You are unfortunately not able to reciprocate the
feelings in the exact same manner. He can be a gem of a person, a great friend,
an amazing partner but you are just unable to feel that way for him.
Then starts the dilemma
of “what to do?” You don’t want to break his heart, you don’t want to hurt the
guy who loves you so very much. But what other options do you have? Thus you
end up being a stone hearted, cold, mean person.
This problem happens
mainly because of lack of tuning between you two. You both need to be mentally
on the same page to be in a steady relationship. You both need to have the same
wants and understanding of life. It’s not like he is the only one in the
relationship who needs to understand you, get you, but you also need to
understand him. One-way traffic of feelings never lead to anything good. It will
only leads to heartbreak for the guy, whose only fault is to fall in love with you.
So be brave in the beginning
than fake it and give false hope to the poor lad.
Song is life. Its
importance is more than can be expressed in words. A song can change the mood
of a person like magic.
Life is a mixture of happy
and sad songs. For every moment you will surprising find a song that fits it
the best. The lyrics almost speak what you are going through.
Old songs are so heart
touching, that even if you repeat them a thousand times, they still have the
same magic every single time you play it. Songs like – Lag ja gale, pyaar hua
ikraar hua, and so on.
Our life is like an
unstoppable train that has stops in between but doesn’t stop permanently. We lead
our life with a lot of ups and downs. Some days are so pleasant, it makes us feel
like this is what life is all about, the best there is to experience. And yet
again some days make you face difficulties where you question your existence.
But all this is a
parcel of life. It is the variety which spices up life. Once you feel that
everything is perfect, life gives you new worries and lows, and once you
overcome them you find your new highs. Our life is like a sound wave, in a rhythm
it moves, in a pattern it flows.
To deprive life of this
rhythm is like striping of the frosting of a cake. Without this change and mix
of good and bad, life would be too monotonous, too plain and too stagnant. What
fun will it be if you are happy one moment, and the next and the next and on
and on, the true essence of happiness is felt once you overcome the obstacles
and the nightmare situations.
So embrace the rhythm
of life, and make a wonderful living!
