Oblivious?! Not Really.

To Like or not to Like?
To Love or not to Love?

Often we feel that this is something which we can control, that our mind's voice is stronger than our heart's calling. But the reality begs to differ. When the situation occurs, more than listening to the mind's voice, you tend to lose your mind's rationality.

The whole episode starts off just like your own sweet fairy tale. You meet your desired guy, both have short sweet eye contact, slowly conversations build up, things start looking good from your end. Texting, phone call, everything seems to favor you and your wishful story.
But suddenly things change, he starts acting strange, the lesser the contact you have, the more grows the impatience. You being to act weird and jealously sets in. You start to believe in that fact that it was indeed a fairy tale and not a reality, that you had lost your senses for a while, only to get it back on track in time.

But amidst all this, you fail to resist thinking about him. Your eyes stay glued to your phone, your ears couldn't have been any sharper than this (beep of text message) and all you do is dream about unrealistic moments.

Being friends indeed is a great gift, but what if you want more than that? What if you never wished for just the friendship? The time when you wish to cross the line of friendship and yet again restrict yourself, thinking you might make a complete fool out of yourself, is difficult. Your rational self tells you that this is - "so not going to work" and yet a small part of you truly wishes that it does work out the way you wish to.

To be strong enough, to let yourself realize that you are losing your mind, is hard. This time calls for some sensible thinking. Would you like to lose him forever by acting like a total nutcase? Or being around him as a friend is enough for you? Is being friends with him is better than creating an awkward distance ? These are questions you need to ask yourself and validate your point.

To all the hopeless souls out there, I hear you ! This is the dilemma of "love" , the ray of hope seems to be bleak and yet prominent all at once.
Dream for it, wish for it, but don't expect anything out of it and be happy with what you get.

Change in Life!

Its been a while since I last posted something. The reason is very much interlinked with the topic of this post.
So I got busy with "life" . Yes, you heard me! Life is what happened.

College acceptance , leaving my own city , landing up in a completely unknown place , saying good-bye to family members , embracing the new change , trying hard to make new friends , adapting to rather different way of living and the list will go on. This is just a glimpse of the change in life I am talking about.

Before leaving and even till now, many have told me that they wish I remain the same. That I be the very same person when I return . I cannot help but think differently. Same?! Why will I be the same? If I were to be the same person , then I shouldn't have left in the first place. I could have easily stayed back at home, lead a lazy life and could be the "same". I know what they were trying to mean is - as a person I shouldn't become bad or something. However, I wish to think of it in this way.
I am not going to be bad or good, I am going to improve. I am going to mature as a person, I am going to learn new things everyday, I am going to become a better human being.
Living alone calls for a lot of new changes and to survive and adapt in a new environment you need friends. Its only been a few days in this city and I am happy to say this, that I have managed to make a few friends. Its needless to say that I am blessed to be where I am today. Fortunately the class I am in, has really friendly individuals. I came here with the hope to learn and grow as a person, but being in a class filled with such people, I am excited to learn from them in this journey ahead.

Change in life can be hard, but we have to face it. The moment we start facing our fears, is when we start living. We need to see the brighter side of everything and motivate ourselves. We need to scarifice something now, in order to achieve something much greater in future.
Your life doesn't get better by chance, it gets better by change.
                                                                                     - Jim Rohn

I hope that you all are doing really well in your lives. You might have faced this situation at some point of time in your life or you will face them in your near future. The only thing we all need to remember is
"Change is the only Constant "

Reality Check!

Living in a world created by the author is fun and enjoyable. You come to believe whatever is depicted in the book, you start to imagine that these things can happen in real life.

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell is a book that easily qualifies as one of my favourite books. The reasons might be the sweet and funny friendship between the characters and also the love story that keeps playing all throughout the book.

This is not a Book Review, it is almost a Reality check that I seem to have had in the past few days. I have mentioned this book in particular, to show that not everything in this world is the same as is written in story books.

In the book, the female character has a strong crush on a guy , who is way too good looking and cute. He is someone who works at her office but they don't know each other. However , this girl seems to have spotted him and falls hard for this guy even though she has no idea who he is, what he is like.
This boy on the other hand (as known to readers) is an absolute gentleman and is the perfect guy that you could fall in love with.

The reality check comes here. I too had an encounter with a guy who is exceedingly good looking and way too handsome to be real! Unlike in the book, where the guy knows about the girl and the girl knows nothing about the guy. In my case it is the exact reverse. Certain turn of events revealed that this guy isn't anything of a dream guy. The face and the personality just does not match. Its absolutely different and almost hard to believe.
All I am trying to say is, even though in the book the girl falls for someone without knowing about him and the guy turns out to be a gem of a person, in reality that doesn't seem to be the way. In real life people cannot fall for anyone without knowing each and every minute details about the person.

Story books deport us to a world that is light hearted and care free. To imagine that events, similar to what is written in the books can happen in your life is foolish. Having said that, I must mention yet again that Attachments by Rainbow Rowell is an absolute fun read. I enjoyed every bit of the book and it has connected with me in ways I cannot explain.

Do give this book a try!

Bout of Books 10.0: READ-A-THON !!

With the whole BookTube community raving about read-a-thons every now and then, I thought it was time for me to experience it first hand. This will be my first ever attempt at reading alongside a whole bunch of other people. This is something I wanted to do for a while, it is almost like challenging myself to read as much as I possibly can in this 7 days time!! Surely, it will be a pretty intense week, and I cant wait for it to get started. Read-a-Thon begins on 12Th May!!!

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Z for Zipping (It)!!

After a month full of anticipation and wait and expectation, finally the challenge draws towards the end, with today being the last day.

Being a first timer in this challenge, I did not have a preplanned list of topics written and pre-scheduled. So waking up every morning and brain storming for a topic was pretty crazy. The innumerous edits and scrapping of the whole material now seems fruitful. Now when I look back at those 25 days, I really feel proud of myself  for having kept my promises, for  having lived up to my commitments (drawing a string of thought from my last day’s post).

This challenge was a fun experiment in itself and it is truly surreal to know that there are so many people who read my blog post. It allowed me to connect with other bloggers, with whom I would have otherwise never connected. I must also mention that this challenge helped me in getting a flow in my writing. Previously I would feel lazy and post something rarely. But this challenge got me into writing daily, thereby making it almost a habit to post something or the other everyday. And must I mention, I did miss not posting on Sundays.

So, summing up these fun filled 26 days , I would now like to zip up the challenge and hope to hear from you guys.

Y for Year!!

Mornings change into night, days change into week, weeks change into month and months change into a year. Time passes by and as we welcome a new year, we learn from our mistakes from previous year and try to make better decisions and choices.

Year after year we make promises to ourselves to do something or the other, we accomplish some while we fail to keep up with the rest. We, then make resolutions for the year ahead, and attempt at completing them. This is the process we carry on every year.

But somehow during the year, so many events take place that we often lose focus on what we planned on achieving. We forget our primary goal, we deviate from our track and end up doing something completely out of the “to-do” list. Well sometimes that might be a good thing, however most of the times this deviation from the main course of action does more harm than good.

By the time the year ends and we look at what we have accomplished, just when we are excited to tick off the things from the “to-do” list, we end up ticking only a few. The disorganization in our heads, the lack of focus in one particular thing, the scarce faith within ourselves to be able to achieve what we have aimed for, leads to this incomplete list.

Thus the most important thing to do (can say this from my own experience) is to strongly stick with what you have decided. You should always say this to yourself – “Come what may, I will not let my 100% focus reduce, not even to 95%.” Having to keep up with the same enthusiasm till the end of the year, as you had at the beginning of the year is very difficult. However if you can keep it ,not only will you be able to tick of all the “to-do” items, but will be immensely satisfied to have kept your own promises, that for one full year you have stayed loyal to your commitments, that you have given priority to your promises than getting lured by choices which were good enough to distract you from your ultimate purpose.

This is my goal for the year and would love to know from you all how you feel about each passing year.
